TEASTAND / PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

TeaStand helps software engineers try AI-assisted techniques and keep what works. We designed it to be private by default, and we want you to understand what happens to information you give us.

Effective date: September 10, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 10, 2026

1. Who we are

TeaStand is a software product operated by TeaStand (“TeaStand,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to teastand.ai, the TeaStand application, and related services that link to this policy.

Questions or privacy requests can be sent to privacy@teastand.ai.

2. Information we collect

Account and sign-in information. If you sign in with GitHub, Google, Meta, or another supported provider, we receive the basic account information that provider makes available and that is needed to create and secure your TeaStand account, such as your provider identifier, name, username, and email address when available. We do not receive your provider password.

Information you choose to save. This may include techniques, experiment or trial notes, ratings, reflections, tags, links, and sharing choices. TeaStand is not designed to automatically ingest or retain your full AI transcripts or private source code.

Technical information. We may receive device, browser, log, approximate location derived from IP address, and security information needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot the service. We use only the cookies or similar technologies needed for sign-in, sessions, security, and basic preferences unless we tell you otherwise.

Information you send us. If you contact us, we collect the information in your message and use it to respond.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide and secure TeaStand, authenticate you, save and display your private playbook, enable sharing that you request, improve reliability and usability, communicate about the service, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use private user content to train general-purpose AI models. If our practices change, we will update this policy and provide any notice required by law.

4. When we share information

TeaStand does not share your information with third parties for their own marketing. We may share limited information in these situations:

  • At your direction. Content is shared when you choose to share it or use a feature that clearly requires sharing.
  • Service providers. Trusted providers may process information for hosting, databases, authentication, email, security, analytics, or support. They may use it only to provide services to us, must protect it, and are not authorized to sell it.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect users, or prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.
  • Business changes. If TeaStand is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections.

5. Authentication providers

When you use GitHub, Google, Meta, or another sign-in provider, that provider processes information under its own privacy policy. TeaStand uses the information returned during the sign-in flow to authenticate your account and does not ask for more access than the feature requires. Removing TeaStand’s access in your provider account may not delete information already stored in TeaStand; contact us to request deletion.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep information while your account is active or as needed for the purposes described here. You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal information by emailing privacy@teastand.ai. We may retain limited information where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, disputes, or legitimate business records, and we will delete or anonymize it when those reasons no longer apply.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Contact us first and we will handle requests as required by applicable law.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service can promise perfect security, so please avoid putting secrets, credentials, or sensitive source code into fields that do not need them.

9. Children

TeaStand is intended for software engineers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as TeaStand grows or our practices change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. Material changes will receive additional notice when required.
